The model names won’t help. They’re Southern Alps peaks, so Sefton, Hicks, Perouse, Dixon, Aoraki and Silberhorn say nothing about the shape of the vanity behind them, and looking gets you further than reading.

What you’re really choosing is three things that have to agree: the cabinet finish, the benchtop and the basin, each specified separately. A pairing that reads well across two catalogue pages can fall apart on a wall, which is why it’s worth seeing them assembled. Basins come as oval, round and square vessels in white and matt black, sitting on engineered stone in white and in veined marble looks.

Cabinet fronts run from flat gloss white through fluted oak-look battens to curved cream fluting and deep painted greens, wall-hung or floor-standing. If you are matching a tile or a wall colour you already have, bring a sample, because a finish that looks warm under a showroom light can read cold against your own.

Widths run from 900 to 1500. The 1500 is the one that carries two basins rather than one, so a double vanity is the size to work back from.

Delivery is free to urban addresses nationwide and takes 5 to 10 working days, which makes it one of the shorter waits in a bathroom fitout. Everything carries a 5 year manufacturing warranty, and it holds where the installer follows Lucino’s instructions and the New Zealand Building and Plumbing Codes. Returns are accepted within 14 days.
